Is this a good deal @ $1400? (My gut says no). Non runner that's the worst of the rust the glass is all good.

for a standard Kombi I would typically say no. Those are all over the place in pricing though. Where is it located? Running? Interior configuration?

All depends on where you live and how does the interior look? Is there an engine? does it run?

It looks like it would be a LOT of work. I'd pass on it regardless of price unless you're looking for a pretty major project, rust is poison for these babies.

Not running, that's the worst of the rust though. I be passing on that.

Do you have more pics, or the original ad? With these it is all about the body. A good empty shell can be worth more than that. How far does the rot go? T2s are still in the price spot, where restoring one only makes sense if you can do most of the work yourself. That is having a car that isn't worth much less than the money you put into it. It is a BOF construction and the VW community provides a lot of repair panels and other metal parts in varying quality and sometimes varying fit and finish. Everything is possible, but you should know your way around a welding torch.

motors are cheap enough, I would be real hesitant to call that the extent of the rust though. Have to check the front beam on it to tell you yes or no. That is a 68-71 from what I can see, so you can slap a dual port 1600 beetle motor in there

Sure doesn't seem to be. Where are you?
